Wimborne RFC – Social Team 1980s – 1990s
One thing that I am certain about is that Wimborne RFC is without doubt the most sociable club maybe on the planet, in fact if anyone is having more fun than we did I would like to have seen it.
Over the two decades the club was overrun with characters, no matter when or with whom there was plenty of fun going on, none more so of course than our 3rd team, certainly the side to play for, assuming of course you were good enough.

Jammie Sansom – Tackle him Jammie “F@#”&%U” I’ve got to be at work on Monday – Norma!
John “ON ON ON ON” Chapple – master captain, always difficult to get back up the sides once John had you in his team.
John Strobelt – epitome of the game, how many stories do you need, stole a goose, the sheep and jar of mint source, threw Lionel Blair out of a roller to get to Miss Wimborne, The club BBQ’s at his farm – you truly could write a book !
John Stubley – blessed in all but the rugby department
I am unsure if you would win a League with this lot, but blimey you would have some fun in the process!!!
